What a incredible gameday experience in Norman on Friday night and a great start to that game where I wanted to believe “hey this team could win a Natty!” Of course, that makes it even tougher that it’s OVER, but what a fun season! This is the last Muntz Club show this year. We will see y’all next football season.

Game of the Century in 1971. Nebraska in 1985 and 2000. Texas Tech in 2008. OU clinching the Big 12 title over OSU in 2016. 50 years and 205 home games for me and this could be the biggest game of them all at the Palace on the Prairie! Welcome to the College Football Playoffs in Norman, Oklahoma vs Alabama in Primetime baby!
It’s been one hell of a season for the Sooners and I’ve had a lot of fun with the weekly Muntz Club podcasts. I hope y’all have enjoyed the ride. Big thanks to Head Degen Kurt and Front Row Mike for riding this roller coaster that is the college football season with me every week. Also appreciate all the guest pickers this year including each of our kids picking with us Will Depoy (OU)…and against us Livy Muntz (Tennessee) and Malia Radigan (Texas).

It’s Week 15, and with SMU missing the ACC Championship, I thought about going next door to the Gaylord to watch the games in the Ivory Tower conference room with the CFP committee. But since I’m not really a fan of committees, this country boy ran the OU flag back to the original Muntz Command Center. Kurt has gone Choctaw, and Mike is a homebody as we wrap up the regular season, looking back at our season total win picks. We also have a take on Lane Kiffin that I guarantee nobody else has discussed.
Oh, and we pick this week’s championship games – and you might want to listen, as we’re all easily over the .500 mark with our picks this season. No guest picker this week, but stay tuned for a special guest for next week’s playoff show as we finish off the podcasting season with our CFB playoff bracket selections.

It’s Week 14 and my absolute favorite time of the year! Happy Thanksgiving! I hope y’all are all celebrating with family and friends. A little behind the scenes on my intro videos, in addition to going to all of the home games in the 70’s and 80’s my family also traveled all around the old Big 8. The day before the game we would walk around the stadium and take in the full campus experience in Lawrence, Columbia, Boulder or wherever OU was playing. So, I’m keeping that tradition intact today with these videos. This week’s into is a full season montage followed by a flyover of Cal Stadium and a sleeping Tiger at LSU.
On to the games and well, well, well … what a hell of a football season it has been so far for Oklahoma! We just need to finish this thing off vs LSU on Sunday and punch our ticket to the playoffs. As for my #2 team … My SMU Mustangs can get back to a second straight ACC Championship with a win at Cal. And in other news, Oklahoma State has made a hire! Maybe they can get a Big 12 win next year.
So Don’t Bring Me Down off this high OU and SMU! Get’er Done.

It’s Week 13 and Oklahoma is back home after the best two game road trip in program history. Now we are left with two home games against Tigers to close out the regular season and punch a ticket to the CFB Playoffs.
It’s the only ranked matchup in the SEC this weekend with Texas A&M, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina and LSU all out for cupcakes. So OU-Mizzou has to be prime time viewing right … um no, we have a Big 12 kickoff time of 11 am.
College Gameday is at the other ranked matchup of the weekend, USC at Oregon. This feels like a playoff elimination game and what if USC wins? Could we possibly host Lincoln Riley and USC in Norman for a playoff game?!!!

It’s Week 12 and this is why you joined the SEC! Texas at Georgia. Oklahoma at Alabama. Texas has earned SEC respect with last year’s conference championship appearance, but they could not get by Georgia. As for Oklahoma, I have travelled to all of the SEC road games over the last two years and there is no respect for OU in the SEC…the other programs don’t think OU is worthy (yes, even South Carolina). That’s why this game means MORE than even playoffs. It’s time to LAY IT ON THE LINE!

Notes
It’s Week 11 and it’s time to take a deep breath after a huge Sooner win in Knoxville. OU is still alive for the playoffs, but it looks like the only path is to win out and get to 10-2. Also, surprisingly SMU is the still in the mix for a playoff bid after that huge win at home last week. They would have to win out and win the ACC Championship game, but it’s still possible even at 6-3. First things first, SMU needs to beat BC in Boston this weekend, and to make matters more difficult it’s the annual Red Bandana game for BC.
We have three top 25 games this weekend including Oil Money vs Church Money in Lubbock with Gameday in town. Let the tortillas fly at the start of gameday I guess since it’s now banned in the stadium. The Ducks travel to Iowa, and undefeated Texas A&M hits the road to Mizzou in the other top 25 matchups.

It’s Week 10 and there’s no time to look back at last week’s mess. It’s on to Knoxville and #14 Tennessee in a playoff elimination game. This won’t be easy as a “Dark Mode” Tennessee night game just takes the craziness of Neyland to the next level! No one better to have as guest picker this week other than Tennessee Senior Livy Muntz. I think we know who she will be picking. If you have never been to Knoxville for a Tennessee game, you are in for a top 5 college football experience.

It’s Week 9, and we’ve got a big one on deck as the #8 Ole Miss Rebels roll into town. This marks just the 10th time in the past 25 years that a top-10 team will visit the Palace on the Prairie — and it might not be the last this season, with Mizzou and LSU still ahead on the home slate.
Joining the SEC was all about marquee matchups and no more 11 a.m. kickoffs… well, we got the matchups! One out of two isn’t bad, right?
This week, we’re heading back to the KA House and welcoming Preston Freeman as our guest picker. Plus, don’t miss this week’s flyover video — it’s from Rice-Eccles Stadium at the University of Utah, where Colorado and Utah cap off the night at 9 p.m. (if you’re still going strong after a full day of college football).
Fall is officially here — Saturday’s forecast calls for a high of 61 with rain and possible thunderstorms. Dress accordingly, and as always… BOOMER SOONER!

It’s Week 8 and believe it or not OU gets a second shot at the state fair. The South Carolina State Fair does not surround Williams-Brice Stadium, but is across the street, and it doesn’t have a 55-foot Cowboy, but does have a 70-foot intermediate ballistic range missile, known as “The Rocket”. Not only will OU have the chance at redemption, but I will as well. I failed the 5-5-5 challenge last week at the Texas State Fair. I had no problem with the 5 beers but only hit 4 rides and 2 fried food items.
As for OU football, it’s the first SEC road game of the season and thanks to the missed opportunity last week and the SEC gauntlet ahead, we have entered “MUST WIN” territory against the Cocks. We’ve got a big group of OU friends coming to Columbia this weekend and an OU tailgate near the Spurrier Practice Facility, so come see us if you make the trip.

It’s Texas-OU week and there is no better college football experience than the second Saturday in October right in the middle of the Texas State Fair! And yes, it’s blasphemous to say “Texas-OU” but that’s the annual bet, so until OU wins I’m contractually obliged to say Texas-OU. Are you smiling Brian?
Regardless of what you call it, this is Christmas week for me, and you hope OU Santa delivers and the Texas grinch doesn’t steal the presents. OU has a real chance to toss this Texas season in the ol’ burning dumpster this weekend.
We discuss all of that in what I’m calling the best Muntz Club College Football Show ever. It’s Week 6, and on paper, this one looks like a snoozer—with only two Top-25 matchups on the slate. But isn’t this exactly the kind of week where chaos tends to sneak in? It’s Parent’s Weekend in Norman (not quite Dad’s Day 1985), and OU is back in action against what might be the worst team in the FBS: Kent State. The Golden Flashes are in town to collect a check, but the story is the Michael Hawkins show, as John Mateer sits out with a thumb injury. The real highlight of the day might just be the halftime celebration honoring the 1985 national championship team.
What I’m hoping to see from OU on the field this week? Jaydn Ott getting 20 carries and going for 200 yards—give Texas something extra to think about. And speaking of Texas… as long as the Horns don’t lay an egg in Gainesville, it’s looking like we’ll have College GameDay at the Texas State Fair next weekend.

It’s Week 5 and while OU is on a bye, there’s no break for the Muntz Club Show. We’re in Las Vegas grinding to deliver winners on a massive college football weekend featuring four top 25 matchups. Big Game Bob returns as our guest picker, and it looks like the internet in Little Rock has come a long way since Week 1. The NFL slate is stacked too, headlined by a Sooner QB showdown in Tampa as the Bucs face the Eagles. We’ve got it all covered from the best sportsbook on the planet Circa.

It’s week 4 and we welcome the good folks from the Loveliest Village on the Plains to the Palace on the Prairie. I have been to more than 50 college campuses, and Auburn last year was the nicest fan base I’ve experienced. I hope we can return the favor, but … and there is always a BUT … If Jackson Benedict Arnold rides into town and Auburn finds a way to win, it will be a tough pill to swallow. Maybe Auburn is our new OSU … they also claim fake natties.

It’s Week 3, and Oklahoma football is storming the East Coast like it just discovered cheesesteaks and brotherly love. Believe it or not, this might be OU’s first-ever game in Philadelphia – though they did make a cameo in western PA back in 1984 against Pitt, back when mullets roamed free and shoulder pads were wider than doorways.
Now, here’s the kicker: Lincoln Financial Field is in a no-fly zone in the shadow of Philly International Airport. So, no drone shots this week … unless we want a surprise visit from the FAA. Instead, we’re going full Rocky mode – running the steps, throwing punches, and maybe yelling “ADRIAN!” as we kick off this week’s Muntz Club podcast.
We’ve also got a special guest joining the madness: Dave Cochrane, co-founder of Tejaraza Tequila, is on board to help us pick the week’s biggest games (and possibly take a few celebratory sips).

Now, the spotlight turns to John Mateer. Is he truly Heisman material? Can this offense reignite OU’s path to national prominence?
Saturday is going to be a marathon—College Gameday kicks off bright and early at 8 a.m. on the South Oval, and the real action doesn’t start until 6:38 p.m. So, if you are enjoying a few barley pops, pace yourself and save enough energy to cheer loud!

Week 1 of college football is packed with action — 91 games spread across five days! We’ve got three top-10 showdowns and several other Power 4 matchups to keep things exciting. That’s a welcome distraction from the more preseason-like slate, which includes 47 games against FCS opponents. I’ll be in Norman for one of those matchups, and while it may not be the most competitive game, just seeing the crimson and cream back on the field — and hopefully a real offense — will be a great way to kick off the season.

We’ve officially hit the best time of the year, so hop on the Muntz.Club train for a 15-week adventure through the heart of college football. This project brings together all of my passions—sports, travel, aviation, and yes, spreadsheets—and offers a fun, weekly dive into CFB. It all started 20 years ago when I set out to create the ultimate one-page college football schedule on God’s time (CST, for those who don’t know), packed with gambling lines. It quickly caught on with family and friends who wanted the ultimate CFB “cheatsheet.”
Things really took off when we brought it online, adding intro videos, stadium flyovers, and my questionable weekly picks. And since my picks haven’t always been, let’s say, spot-on, we’re bringing in a couple of my best friends to join the Muntz.Club show each week to help steer the ship. Front Row Mike Radigan will come out from behind the scenes (he’s been running the website) and everyone’s favorite Yankee-Sooner, Kurt Depoy, will join me on the podcast to pick games, crack jokes, and have a good time.
This week, we’re focusing on team win totals instead of individual games. Fair warning: I went 0-5 on this exercise last year, so remember, it’s all just for FUN!
